The only downside is that I have to take it down when there is the threat of rain as it’s not waterproof. But, it is easy to put up and down. The wire running from it is about 10 feet long so it can wrap around the top of the pergola and then reach the ground. It’s not long enough to wrap around the side post of the pergola, though. The wire just hangs straight down. The included 12-volt battery lasts about 10 hours and takes about 3-4 hours to recharge.
