The wheels are sturdy solid wheels in a black metal frame, low clearance as desired however the screws are silver and very soft. By soft I mean the head strips before you even get it screwed all the way in when using a handheld screwdriver I had to hoik the two I tried ( first with electric screwdriver, second with hand held screwdriver) and then replaced the screws with some wood screws( as I was attaching them to a wooden frame). The wheels are smooth running , but please note these are single direction wheels only, so if you are using 2 or more( in my case I used all 4), you need to make sure to attach them so they all face the same way or it won't go anywhere. I used these to make a little underbed trundle and the rolling action is smooth making moving the trundle and then ts load of bedding is easy. Very happy with the wheels , again I advise using other screws than those provided, to save you taking the pliers to them when the head strips halfway in.
