It will not secure rug but we read that. Our dining room table is on top and not needed. Exactly the type our research said we should have to maintain the value of the Persian. Feels nice walking on rug. A bit too pricey ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wood flooring carpet pad *by on Reviewed in Canada 19 July 2023* This rug pad makes our carpet so much softer to walk on. The thickness is 1/2 inch, (is cut from a full piece of felt) and a perfect fit for the 8 x 10' length, leaving a 2" border for the carpet to cover the underpad. We cannot speak to durability yet, but the underpad seems very sturdy. The felt glides softly over the hardwood but we will be placing furniture on top, so we do not anticipate a slipping issue. Delivery to Canada was just over a week from the US. We couldn't be more pleased with overall quality. We are ordering a second pad today.
