This tubing has a 2:1 ratio. This means that 25mm will possibly go over your 25 mm cable, but it will be tight. When you try to heat it it will shrink. It has the capacity to shrink to 12.5mm. For a 25mm cable, I would choose 35mm tubing. It will have the capacity to shrink to 19.5mm. It will also slip over your cable, pre-shrink, very easily and shrink down snugly. I learned heat shrink while performing electronic maintenance in the USAF. I wish you all luck. Make sure you know the ratio because that can impact it's final diameter. Pro tip: If possible, avoid lighters. Direct flame can often burn it before it shrinks evenly. Hair dryers are not hot enough. Love my heat gun! **Q: I ordered 20mm. is this the size after you shrink it down? Mine measures 35mm across out of the package.** A: 20mm is the base diameter of the tube. Since the tube is shipped flat your 35mm measure is about 1/2 the circumference of the tube. The diameter calculates out to be about 22mm. The shrink tube with a 2:1 shrink ratio will shrink from 20mm to about 10mm. **Q: How durable is this? I want to use it around a 1.5" diameter hose handle and I want it to hold up to hitting the ground.** A: This is heat shrink. It will stand up to some impact but is not really flexible after shrinking. If your hose handle is subject to bending this won't last. It is designed to cover and protect electrical connections, not hose. **Q: I need it to shrink down to approximately 1/2" - 3/4". What size should i order? What will be preshrunk diameter and postshrunk diameter?** A: Since it shrinks to approximately half the original diameter, get a size that will comfortably fit over what your working on.
