Unfortunately the life span on them was not the five - ten years as stated (more like three). So when one started to "chirp" we replaced them both with this model. I am happy with this replacement as the batteries (two AA) are able to be replaced! The slight downside is that the mounting bracket is smaller than the previous model, meaning that a little bit of filler and paint was required to tidy up the area around the previous drill holes. Overall, for the cost, ease of installation, coupled with the fact the batteries are replaceable, I am very pleased with this purchase.
