The crucible temperature is 2068 F. These gloves performed amazingly well.I also weld and have use aluminized gloves for MIG welding.I can tell you for welding this sort of thing does not hold up. The splatter and abrasion from propping against the work will always deteriorate the aluminum backing.However for intense radiant heat such as casting molten bronze, these gloves work better than any I have used.The sacrifice is limited dexterity. This is fine with casting where you are only manipulating tongs. I wouldn’t want to weld with these and really they aren’t needed. It was feeling like I was getting burnt through the glove on the first 2 pours, just my left pinky which was the closest to the crucible. Then it just heat shrank and my pinky still hurts.
