My old spring took many attempts to kick out and set my kickstand. Along with a loud squeak that would occur when setting my kickstand. I was the laugh of the town, I'd get laughs and points as I struggled to set my kickstand and park my bike. Then people would cover their ears and cringe at the squeak of grinding metal that followed. My breaking point was when I was told I wasn't wanted in our riding group because I was the black sheep, the embarrassment of the group. It was at that moment, that breaking point that lead me to frantically searching for a new spring. As I searched for what seemed like endless hours, I stumbled upon this magnificent spring. Once it came in I felt the winds of fate begin to change. I knew as I felt the sturdy quality of the spring that I would be accepted as a contributing member of society again. The initial fit was a little short and wasn't able to click it bare handed. Off to the tool box I went, searching for what tools could help me stretch the spring and clip it in. I grabbed a 90Β° o-ring pick and a pair of channel locks. I hooked the spring and pulled the spring to get it to the hook hole on the the kick stand. Attempt after attempt I was starting to lose all hope. The kickstand end of the spring would get closer and closer, only to get hooked for a slight moment only to slip out. I finally grabbed the channel locks and with as much strength and might I could muster up, the end of the spring hooked at the very edge of the kickstand hole. In sheer desperation, with channel locks in hand and at the ready, I swung and knocked the spring hook inplace. The heavens opened and cheers from afar roared as I mounted my metal stallion and tested the kickstand. The first kick out to set the kickstand could not have gone better. With substantially less effort than the former spring that stood in its place. The kickstand swung out with the authority and confidence level of a fortune 500 CEO closing on the deal of the millennium. I knew at that moment, life was about to change. I would be invited back to the riding group, my confidence and self respect came flooding back. All because of this one small but life changing spring. Do not discount this spring, it holds power, unfathomable power that some cannot comprehend. I will be forever grateful for this spring, and what it had done to my life.
