## Description

Arctic Air Pure Chill 2.0 Evaporative Air Cooler by Ontel - Powerful, Quiet, Lightweight and Portable Space Cooler with Hydro-Chill Technology For Bedroom, Office, Living Room & More,Blue

Review: Clear Expectations: It's an Air Cooler, Not an Air Conditioner - I bought this in 2022 when I was living in an about 200 square foot studio. I put ice in the tray, froze the filter and it did not cool me off at all. At least, no more than my fan at the time. BUT, that was because I was using the item under the wrong expectations. I needed an AC to beat the heat wave and the high humidity. I packed this away and bought an AC on Facebook Marketplace for $50. Fast forward to 2024, and I am now in love with this thing! I'm in a new apartment that's basically in the attic. We're currently in the midst of another heat wave. I have my AC running full blast, but there are areas where they just don't have a wide range of affect. Which unfortunately consists of my bedroom. Enter this baby! I once again froze the filter and added in some ice water and am enjoying the cool breeze blowing directly into my face. I have this right next to the head of my bed and it makes all the difference. It is important to note that this is not the only fan in my room. I have 2 more on the left and right hand side of my bed, so I get a nice circulation going. The Artic Air is not the primary reason I no longer overheat at night or wake up sweaty. What it is, is a good cog in the machine. It is a great PROXIMITY cooler. I think if you want to get the most bang for your buck, you need to measure how well it will cool like a 1-2ft area. For me, I just needed it to cool my head and pillow. I've had another mini fan in the same place I now have the Artic Cooler. The Artic Cooler is better. I've used the cup of ice in front of said mini fan. The Artic Cooler is more efficient. It's compact. It's easy to clean. I can easily move it to my work desk. It's handling the current 86 humidity tonight. For $40, this thing is worth it. But it's worth it to effectively cool that 1 to 2 feet area. Please note I am using this with conjunction of: +2 ACs in the Living Room on Full Blast -(My Living Room is about 10ft away in a straight hallway) +2 Fans on the Left and Right Hand side of my bed. Also running on Full Blast The Artic Air Cooler was the missing piece of the puzzle I needed to keep myself cool. It will not cool a room on its own. It just picks up the slack while your actual AC and/or Fan does the heavy lifting. If you want to purchase this item, you need to have a good expectation of what it can do. And I hope my review puts it's quality into perspective.
Review: updated review ! as i’ve sent it back. - scroll to bottom for UPDATE! a lot of work for a nice breeze (not for a bedroom sized space) but it will cool you off when faced directly in your direction. airflow vents for up and down do work well. you can see the air mist shooting out of the machine on a hot day. as far as portability , you need an outlet USB port and A to C cable. so it needs to be consistently plugged in. would be great if you could just charge it. works without “ice/water” as a normal fan but not worth using without the cold water or ice cubes in the water, at that point you’re probably better off with an ordinary fan. it gets loud on “full speed” but fan speed 3 and “chill” mode 2 isn’t too loud and does provide cool air. the filter needs to be cleaned after each use just running through cold water and for the best results put the filter in the freezer too (in my opinion not worth the time for the little bit of extra cold air). but needs to be cleaned regardless. it’s alot lighter in weight than i thought and smaller dimension wise but one tray of ice cubes will fit into the top with a little bit of water and will be melted down to ice water within 45 mins and provide a cool breeze when faced in your direction. been using for 2 weeks in a hot work space almost running 24 hours a day and it’s still holding up however one of the vent blades has broken somehow and just faces downward with no sign of how or where it broke .. for the price and size it will be useful for the right condition i gave 3 stars because the vent blades simply breaking out of no where. also i have to stack it on a few boxes to be high enough in the air to reach me. i think the more expensive ones are worth it if your looking for something to keep you cool not break easily so worked for 28 days and the. simply stopped and wouldn’t turn on all the way and would get extremely hot near the plug in port . so i sent it back for a much better one at the same price just didn’t have a filter and is twice the size. i shouldn’t of even given it 1 star but it did its job for 28 days but i would advise not wasting your money on this , theres several other better ones in the same price range !!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this device work inside of a car?**
A: As long as you have a usb-c adapter then yes it will work in your car

**Q: What kind of square footage does it cover?**
A: Please note this is a fan more than an air conditioner. There is a cooling filter that you wet and freeze prior to turning on in a room. We had it in a room that is 13x12.

**Q: Ok so is it actually cold, has anyone out a thermometer on it?**
A: It's NEVER COLD, better off buying a fan. A pain in the neck and a waste of time when it comes to cooling off.. Should cost $5 at most. Don't waste your money. Plus water condenses on the surface of whatever it sits upon. Dud, dud,. dud.

**Q: The video i watched mentioned “freezing the filter & “adding ice cubes to the water.” is this correct? the description says “plug in.” correct? thx**
A: You don't have to freeze the filter, you don't have to add ice cubes, BUT YOU DO NEED WATER! Doing the other two helps the air get cooler, but you don't need to if you don't have those those things, you will just have a room temperature mist. If you want cooling mist then you will need ice.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Leaks really badly
*by S***A on July 21, 2026*

While this does work a little bit, it doesn't work the greatest. I followed the instructions on the instruction manual as it said to do. But, I just didn't see a difference in the temperature with this. I soaked the blue cartridge in water and put it in the freezer overnight to give it the best chance to work, but after 5 minutes of the air cooler running, it pretty much unthawed itself. While I did have it running on high and it was 90*F outside and it being 85*F in my small bedroom (a 15' x 20' room, with just a regular fan in it) it did feel cool with me being no more than 3-5 feet in front of it, but not by much. I also noticed that for a full tank of water in the tank that it is able to run with water for about 6ish hours before the water tank empties itself. I also cannot stress this enough that you MUST put this on a plate or a bucket lid (I used a square ice cream bucket lid and it did just fine) of some sort as it leaks water really badly and will easily leave a water puddle and water rings on the surface you have this on.
