Can each detector be set to activate two different tones?** A: No. Both sensors trigger the one receiver which can be configured to play one tune or sound. Some products support unique tones for each sensor but this one does not. It works very well though. **Q: All these questions and nobody asked this question (interesting) -Is the sensor water proof?** A: Yes they are waterproof and snow proof. I had bought my mother one in 2013 when my father had passed for some extra security for my mother and just today 6/18/22 we have to replace because it the inside unit started making a humming noise and won't stop. We figured after 9 years of snow, rain, heat whatever it's time to buy another. It is a bit sensitive but once you know what triggers it you can either take care of like weeds across the road or someone mowing grass in yard across the dirt road.
