There are not a lot of special features, but I like that the temperature screen is backlight for use in a dark room. It doesn't seem to require all the expensive disposable filters like the more expensive brand-name models, which is nice. The temperature result comes up pretty quickly--only a second or two to know if you have a fever. All in all, I'm pleased with the purchase.
