Not the “user” program instructions which is not obvious but do-able. Bottom line: It is perfect.

**Q: How do i orogram my new thermostat**
A: It came with instructions and if you read them carefully several times and take one item at a time, you should be able it complete all the steps .  It might be easier to have someone read each step to as you input them on the thermostat.   Good luck.

**Q: How do i take the lock off?**
A: White Rodgers Customer Service is excellent.  888-725-9797 or 800 284 2925

**Q: How does it switch to fossil fuel heat?**
A: Automatically.  There's usually a preset temperature (mine is 25 F) for the temp at which it should switch over.  Alternatively, you can choose to run on fossil.

**Q: can it be used for heater only?**
A: Not sure I quite understand the question regarding "heater". But this thermostat can be used for heat or cooling and it can be used with a heat pump (which is exactly how I am using it).

Great thermostat. We chose not to get the WiFi connected Emerson version because we didn’t need it. (We wanted a “simple-to-operate” and it is! ). Brand is actually White Rodger’s/Emerson.
