Why would you want to? There are good, inexpensive 12kN carabiners here on Amazon. They are usually about $2.50 each for 4 or 6. Get those. Use these cheap ones for your tarp or structural ridgeline, and things like that, but not for your hammock. And, if you do, make sure that you're not hanging over a steep slope or river bank or over rocks. Just regular ground is hard enough. **Q: How much load can they carry? I want them for excercise springs** A: Static max load is 160lb. Make sure the Screw Lock is 100% tightened before hanging the heavy load. Maybe it will be bended a little but won't break. **Q: Is this strong enough to hold a 10' x 15' shade sail?** A: They are very light weight, but seem strong enough to hold a shade. **Q: Are these strong enough to use on my kayaks. I want to use them to hook my rachet straps to hold onto my roof. My climbing ones are to big to fit.** A: I would not use these as anchor points as the aluminum is not very sturdy in feel compared to even cheap climbing clips. Good buy, but right away the spring broke on one of them (the rest are fine). *by B***Y on January 6, 2018* The good: - they're fairly light (0.75oz) - despite their weight they feel like they'd handle a ton of weight - the locking cylinder is pretty easy to turn, and doesn't get in the way The bad: - I used four of these so far, and the spring broke on one of them within the first couple weeks. It's not really a safety issue -- it still holds weight, and the locking cylinder still holds it shut, it's just annoying that that one doesn't really work without locking it anymore. The others are still going strong. In all these are nice though and it was a good deal.
