Installed in kitchen to replace a four tube unit that took 160 watts to run. this unit uses only 50 watts and makes more light. I made my own grid to mount it in the fixture already fastened to the ceiling after taking the tubes out and it works great. The write up didn't say, but it has hooks on the back side so it can be hung. Flush mounting would be hard because of the control box that sticks up about 1.5 inches on the back side. You would have to cut a hole in the ceiling. Anyway once mounted and flipped switch got a great bright light.
