I have consistently measured filtered water TDS at 8-12 ppm. The discarded water measures TDS anywhere between 300-600 and it tastes like armpit sweat, so it is definitely working on both instrument analysis as well as taste test. I collect discarded water for watering house/patio plants, but it's nice that discard volume is low (1:1). It's installed in the garage sink and use it mainly for filling 5 gallon jugs (with food grade silicone tubing attached to the faucet into jugs) that are also stored in the garage. It takes around 5-7 minutes to fill 5 gallons.
