First you need to make sure that your cabinet hinges are self-closing. In order to find this out, just open your cabinet door a couple of inches and let it go. If your door closes it has self-closing hinges, if it does not close and stays open your cabinet hinges are not self-closing and not one soft close damper in the market will work. Now you need to find the right location to install the damper. Always use the top corner closest to the hinge. Our installation movies and literature will show you the right location depending on the item that you will be using. These are 100% plastic with shiny silver paint to make it look like metal. I spent way too much of my day off of work, trying to install these. I ended up packing them all up and sending them back.
