Definitely a worthwhile invest. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent tool for paper piecing to give you that 1/4" seam allowance. *by M***A on May 18, 2016* I've recently started quilting a few months ago and am slowly learning different techniques in order to make quilt blocks. One of those techniques is paper piecing. This ruler was recommended to me in order to make sure that you leave the 1/4" seam allowance when doing the paper piecing. It works great. It seems like an unnecessary tool when you can use a regular ruler to make sure you have that seam allowance, however this saves a lot of time as it has a small lip on the edge of the ruler where the 1/4" line is--so you just put it up against your edge and cut. No lining up the ruler to be sure you have left the right amount.
