But, short answer, the + has anti panic so your belayer will have a much harder time dropping you to the deck, it's the one I make my kids use. I use a 2 if I need a grigri for myself though. **Q: Can i tree climb with hand ascenders and lower myself with this grigri device or should i get the id?** A: You could. Hand ascenders do mess up your ropes. Other devices needed to ascend. This is a good device for lowering. **Q: Can you use this on a stadic line ?** A: yes, it works fine with my static **Q: I'm a beginner climber interested in climbing for long-term. should i get the grigri or the grigri+?** A: I prefer the regular over the plus for most applications, but the plus is nice when I have newer climbers or my kids belaying me. so.... both lol, the answer is both haha ## Frequently Bought Together - Petzl GRIGRI + Belay Device with Cam-Assisted Blocking and Anti-Panic Handle, Suitable for Learners and Intensive Use - Orange - Petzl Sm'D Carabiner - Versatile, Lightweight, Compact, D-Shaped Locking Carabiner for Rock and Ice Climbing - PETZL - William, Locking Carabiner for Belaying --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/41331987-petzl-grigri-safety-device-unisex-orange-one-size](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/41331987-petzl-grigri-safety-device-unisex-orange-one-size) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-22*
