(I'm guessing its vented for off season storage, not usable when using the RV?)** A: No it's the same plug that came with my rv new. **Q: Are these plugs hollow, or solid plastic?** A: These plugs are hollow and it leaked after a the water heater cycled a few times. But don’t assume that with two different sizes of hex-head that it is design for YOUR RV water heater. I’ve got a Suburban water heater in my camper, and I initially assumed it wasn’t fitting on the drain plug because of positioning, but after a few minutes of frustration, it became obvious that the hex head on my drain plug is even bigger than the two this is designed for. On a positive note, $8 is still pretty reasonable.
