I thought the spinning cup would make him to drink more. But milk gets into the spinning part when sucking, defeat the purpose of this cup. He is now 21 months they still work well and he loves them. They are basically spill proof, occasionally when he throws them the pressure differential causes some liquid to leak from the straw. This also happens when a temperature difference occurs. Simple fix is to open the top and close again.Only minor drawback is the plastic has become discolored minor amount from juice. Most of the other cups on the market have straws with those awful suction valves that make it difficult for even me to get a drink! He gets extremely frustrated with and has no interest in those kind at all. And neither do I, as they lead to a tantrum. This straw is extremely easy to use, as he can actually drink from it, and there are replacement straws if needed after lots of use. Which is what this cup is getting but the straw is holding up beautifully so far.
