Organic Kamut, made from plump hard amber spring Kamut grain, is slowly stone ground to perfect grain granulation. The sweet flavor of this has made it a favorite at the mill. It descends from Pharaoh's time, and it perfectly fits the base of today's food pyramid.

It makes a wonderfully sweet, light golden colored bread. I can't get over the flavor. No other wheat compares to this. Since Kamut is not as high in gluten as hard red or white wheat, I use it in a ratio of 3/1 with white wheat to get the proper gluten development for bread baking. If you are going to be eating this as a whole grain (and not grinding it) or using it for pancakes or muffins (which it is superb for) the lower gluten in a plus. These packages do not hold a lot of wheat if you want to bake very much bread, but it is a great way to try out this unique type of wheat and see what you think. **Q: The picture shows whole kamut berries, but the description says it is ground into a cereal.   Which is it?**
A: The bag says whole kamut berries, I bought these and ground them into flour.I use about 1 cup with 3¼ cups of all purpose flour in my bread machine.Great bread!!!

**Q: Are these grown in the US?**
A: good question. I can't find the information where the grain was grown on the package. You'll have to contact Bob's red mill.

**Q: Can kamut be put in a blender and used instead of panko?**
A: I don't know; I've never tried that. It can be ground into flour, or cooked as a whole grain. If your blender can grind tough grains like rice, than it should be able to do this, too.

**Q: how can you turn this into kamut cereal?**
A: I cook it like rice and eat it with butter.  It is delicious, a little more chewy than rice.  You may like to do the same but add milk and maple syrup with some nuts.  My daughter grinds it into flour in her vita mix to make pancakes. If you want flakes, you should probably just buy kamut cereal

Tastes great in my baked goods and I found the grains to be very clean. No chaffe. I have only used it for bread and rolls but want to try it in cookies next. I like to mix it with other wheat berries as well.
