I would call it water resistant, not water proof ( not for use under water).I have an apple computer electrical cable that started cracking. I wrapped the cable with self fusing tape and not only does it provide good support for the cable but it seals it. It does not unravel like regular electrical tape.To use it you have to pull it and stretch it out, then wrap it, it will self shrink to make a solid, secure self sealing tape ### ⭐⭐⭐ Three Stars *by L***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2016* it doesn't work too well when using it on hoses working in your pool. ### ⭐ Lousy Tape *by E***D on Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2016* This tape is no good! Buy X-treme tape instead. X-Treme tape might cost more but it is worth it. I am a retired electrician and I know good tape when I see it. This is Plymouth Brand Tape and it is bad. It is very thin and comes apart after a few days of exposure to the sun.
