On day 1, I added 2 drops, mixed with a squirt of body oil, to each arm. On days 2 and 3, I increased by one drop each day (4 drops on day 3). My skin is normally very pale, and my arms are heavily freckled (and I'm over 60 with several dark spots). Today, day 4, my right side looks evenly tan (Isle of Paradise). The St. Tropez on my left side has produced a slight tan, but it has greatly enhanced my freckles and dark spots.
