Completely beautiful, and exactly what I always wanted ... until they started chipping. No matter how careful we were with them, the edges continue to chip away, and I am quite sad about it. When we bought our boat the previous owner just left all the dishes that were from this company. That was a treat because our former boat ware was quite plain and utilitarian. I liked the dishes so much I took them from the boat and brought them home. However, I don't want to pack dishes back and forth so I decided to get this set for the boat. These dishes are pretty darn sturdy. We've had some rough water at times (on the Pacific Ocean) and nothing has ever broken. I dont' have to wrap them in soft material when the water gets rough. They're just nice...and attractive and add to the pleasure of the meal. I'm not a foody, so these make a meal a bit more appealing.
