When I emailed the seller about it I was told that the product description states that the item may look different than the picture. They told me to let them ripen on my counter. I don't think "may look different than the picture" is very informative. If they were sending me green lemons they should have put a note in my box or emailed me to let me know. They looked and smelled exactly like limes which made me think they were limes. I tried to let them ripen on my counter but only two ever turned yellow. A third turned partially yellow and I tried to use it but it was definitely not ripe. All the others shriveled up and went bad before they ever ripened. They came just in time for a recipe I was using that called for a meyer lemon. I received about a dozen lemons in my 2 lb package.
