After moving to a new apartment shared with roommates, my laptop became nearly useless since it couldn't sustain a wifi connection unless I was within 10 feet of the router. Was about to give up and sell it off for a different model but decided to try this first. Setup was easy and immediately I had a strong signal from everywhere in the apartment, even through several walls to my room, and a good distance outside as well.Signal strength is still very good if I remove the antenna, but knowing me I'd probably misplace it if I didn't keep it on there and I don't mind it sticking out anyway. Bonus: this adapter also works great with macOS Sierra on a hackintosh setup I have running on an old PC desktop. I'll probably pick up another of these so that I can have both the laptop and desktop online at the same time and sync files more easily between them. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars NOT compatible with Linux *by S***M on Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2017* It is advertised as compatible with Linux. However the reality is quite different. The drivers are definitely not in any known repo (at least not found easily online). Drivers provided on CD for linux bombed out with several errors using the given install files.I was excited to see a linux compatible USB wireless card I could use with linux - disappointed. I will wait for couple days, in case the manufacturer has suggested recommendations to try. If not this is going back.2017-05-29 Update: Bought another brand which worked like a charm.TP-Link N150 Wireless High Gain USB Adapter (TL-WN722N). If you are playing with Linux, this one is something to consider - ENKER is not there yet (maybe they will be when they see other reviews like mine).
