Didn’t take long and it came right off. I am so happy I found this. Review: I think I have finally found the perfect hard water tool - I bought another scrubbing pad [Shaws] from desertcart before trying the Earthstone, to remove the remains of a gray pumice stone around the rim of a toilet. That pad fell apart when I used it. The Earthstone is a different story. It worked on the old stains without my having to spend a long time scrubbing. It did wear down fairly fast, but it was very effective on hard water and old pumice stains. It didn't seem to scratch the toilet bowl, either. I will be buying another one of these when this one wears out. I think I have finally found the perfect hard water tool. I would suggest one improvement, though, which is to sell an Earthstone with a sharpened point to allow getting up into the small crevices on the rims of some toilet bowls. One thing to watch out for with the Earthstone is the amount of residue it sheds when used. Be sure to have a paper towel or a bucket or something to put it down on, or your bathroom floor will have a lot of residue from the Earthstone. I also used heavy gloves when using it for the same reason. ## Features - Non-Toxic ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B000LF7YQC | | Best Sellers Rank | #167,659 in Health & Household ( See Top 100 in Health & Household ) #2,037 in All-Purpose Household Cleaners | | Brand | Earthstone | | Brand Name | Earthstone | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 971 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00638496001012 | | Item Form | Tablet | | Item Type Name | Environmentally Friendly Cleaning Block | | Item Volume | 4 liters | | Item Weight | 1.6 ounces | | Manufacturer | Earthstone International | | Material Feature | Organic | | Material Features | Organic | | Material Type Free | Bleach Free | | Model Number | 111 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Part Number | 111 | | Scent | Unscented | | Size | 1 Count (Pack of 1) | | Special Features | Non Toxic | | Specific Uses For Product | Grout, Sink, Toilet | | Surface Recommendation | Ceramic,Grout,Porcelain | | UPC | 638496001012 785934130251 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Images ![EarthStone International Bathstone Environmentally Friendly Cleaning Block, Cream, Twin (111) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61vOKHxGKgS.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: do you wet it first? It looks as if it would scratch it's so hard.** A: You do wet it, but wetting it doesn't soften it. It's recycled glass, so it's definitely hard. When you rub it over the surface, the recycled glass rubs off so that after many uses, it begins to disintegrate. I've only used it in the potty, so all I can say is that it doesn't look like it's scratching, but I haven't made a really close inspection. If it is scratching it, it is minor b/c I can't see any scratches, and I've used it repeatedly. Works like a dream! **Q: how to use it?** A: The stone is quite simple to use. You just scrub the way you would normally do with with a brush or other cleaning device. The stone will gradually dissolve but depending on how much you use it, it should last for several cleanings. **Q: Has anyone tried this on grout caked with hard water deposits? Just wondering if it worked.** A: I had hard water and soap scum that would not come off w/ any other cleaners and this worked beautifully, the only problem is it leaves scratches on surfaces **Q: Why does Amazon charge $10.09 when you can buy at Bed Bath and Beyond for $3.99?** A: The answer REUSEIT gave is crap. I'm showing an amazon prime price of $7.94, so that "free shipping" is still being added to the product price. I'll be going to BBB. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked great for rust stain!! *by C***Y on August 19, 2025* Was able to get a stubborn rust stain out of my new apartment tub! It feels much more coarse than I was expecting and I was nervous to try it on my smooth tubs. I do have one shower that has more of a textured floor and I did use it on there, and it seemed to remove the discoloration. It felt slightly gritty after I did it, so it confirmed my suspicion to not use it on large bathtub areas. I'm sure I can find other uses for this; just not my sinks and tubs. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/4055455-earthstone-international-bathstone-environmentally-friendly-cleaning-block-cream-twin-111](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/4055455-earthstone-international-bathstone-environmentally-friendly-cleaning-block-cream-twin-111) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-28*
