You can make loaf bread at home with this Pullman pan. This Loaf Pan with Cover is perfect for making 1lb Loaf Bread ,slices of the sandwich bread. The lid of loaf pan is for making the bread with good shape. And you can also use the pan without lid to make traditional raised bread. The non stick Coating is food safe and easy release and clean. The hole in the bottom is for air circulation when baking. The temperature for the pan is up to 446 x2109;. Beware of the hot lid when you are cooling the bread. Washing Note: Don't use the abrasive Brush to clean the pan. Not For microwave oven use. Remarks: The color will be a little different because of photograph and monitor.

**Q: Do I cook the bread with the lid on, or is the lid just supposed to be on the pan while the bread is rising?**
A: You can do it either way. But to get the a Square loaf you bake it with the lid on. I really like this pan. The square loaf makes great sandwiches.

It has three tiny holes on the bottom (for airflow, I guess) that are the perfect size to insert an instant-read thermometer to check for doneness--a feature not noted in the description. The loaf took a bit longer than the recipe indicated, so this definitely ensured my loaf was perfectly cooked and golden brown. I'm making French toast for brunch, thanks to this wonderful bread pan.

This is my second pan that I have bought. This one is much heavier than the one I bought several years ago. They both work great! The bread is cooked perfectly with no burn spots or anything. The bread releases much easier than my old loaf pans that I finally got rid of!
