He was dropping his lead foot (left) too far to the left on delivery and this forced him to drop is foot towards the catcher.Ok build quality. The rubber is a piece of wood. My biggest issue is the surface. It can get a little slippery. The other issue is that many young pitchers will become fearful of landing off of the skinny landing area and falling...this can alter their delivery quite a bit.I've moved on and purchased a much better full sized portable mound. After reading a few reviews, I took a gamble on buying the 6 inch travel mound. It is spectacular... a great mound, in that it is very sturdy enough to be used by both kids and adults (in a coaching capacity), durable, and very portable. My son uses it in the yard everyday and then I fold it up and take it to each practice. It is a well designed, high quality, handmade, very solid wooden product. I wish they had varnished the wood to weatherproof it more, but that was easily fixed with a few extra dollars spent on varnish and 15 mins of work on my part.
