Should work fine that way. **Q: What is the difference between this unit and the ET-337?** A: The ET-337 has a rubber base instead of the suction cup feet on the EX-17. I had the ET-337 and got rid of it because it needed 2 hands to operate. One hand to hold the dispenser and one hand to pull tape off. The suction cup feet on the EX-17 holds the dispenser to the flat tabletop so you can pull off tape without holding the dispenser. I like this dispenser a lot better. **Q: Is there an adapter for a 1" core? my needs are painters tape 3", heat tape 3" & scotch(gift wrap tape 1"). Thank You!** A: Buy this great product the way it is..! Made of steel with a serous cutting blade I just bought one and was looking at a second. This is a top quality product made in Taiwan they are making great products, like we used to make in the US before our jobs moved overseas, Corporations are starting to see the folly of not paying America's people works LOVE TO WORK why would you take an industrial product and downgrade it.
