I disliked all the heat that came off those lights. These bulbs are slightly bigger than the G16.5 standard bulbs they are replacing...the glass part is maybe 2mm larger in diameter. They work just fine with the dimmer, which was installed in my bath 16 years ago, so I didn't have to put in a special one for these LED bulbs. I'm not a fan of the big yellow filaments that are very visible in these clear bulbs, but maybe that's necessary. But all the lights work and they are very bright....so I'm glad they are on a dimmer. I used these 40 Watt "equivalents" to replace 25 Watt incandescent bulbs because I read some reviews that mentioned these weren't as bright as the 25 Watt bulbs they were replacing. For my application, these bulbs are much brighter and whiter than the 25 Watt bulbs they are replacing and so now I keep the dimmer switch turned way down. I LOVE that the master bath stays so much cooler with these bulbs! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Not as bright as they are are rated to be. *by D***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2016* This was the size I needed for a wall sconce. I was glad to find them. They are rated as a replacement for a 40 watt bulb but not as bright in my opinion. I had to use 4 of them, which is supposed to be the same as 160 watts, in a very small bathroom. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars More light with way less power. *by J***1 on Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2016* I have a large chandelier with 18 bulbs. I replaced 40W incandescent lights with these LEDs and am very happy - they give out at least as much light at full power and way more in a dimmed mode (I turned the chandelier lights on when there were a mixture of LEDs and incandescent). I'm now well below 100W total instead of over 700W! Also, they work quite well on my old-style dimmer (a toggle switch dimmer), which is not true of all dimmable LEDs. The only minor change I would make is that I prefer a slighter warmer (more yellow) light, although these are NOT blue.
