If it's a nice wooden surface that you want people to see then I'd recommend finding a matching wood filler and using a plastic card rather than a syringe, just keep forcing a little into the hole until it's blocked up and the surface is convex when the filler has hardened, so you can sand it smooth and level. If you're trying to block holes in something outdoors then silicon caulk is probably the best (Though you'll need a caulk "gun" because it's very viscous and will probably destroy this syringe in no time). Cold glue might work with the syringe because it's quite runny and water soluble (So you'll be able to rinse the glue out of the syringe when you're finished) but because it's runny that means it'll have a high solvent content and when the solvent evaporates and the glue dries it'll shrink and leave a depressions, so it'll take a few repetitions. **Q: How do you put the pieces together? There is no instructions...** A: The needle just screws onto the syringe with about a 1/2 a turn maybe a little more. It doesn't look like it but it does screw on.
