I found that it is easy to put them in at a slight angle and then I had to redo the rivet. I'm not sure if they are as rugged as the rivets put in jeans, but they are still pretty rugged, and for the price, the package is worth it...to me. **Q: Can you use these on flip flops** A: This particular set, no. They would be too small. These heads are only about the size of bic pen clickers. **Q: Will this work on 7-9oz leather?** A: I don’t know. If you measure the thickness of your leather with a caliper you should be able to compare that to the mm measurement of the rivets. You need very very little to push the cap on and set it.
