The only systems to do more research on are amplified systems from the factory. EG Bose. In most of those applications you need to get your source wires after the amp (output). **Q: Does the gain knob adjust output voltage? I need to boost line voltage to 3v and can't find a line driver with output that low.** A: The level adjustment on the top side of the LC1i adjusts the RCA output level/voltage. Had slight issues with the remote but worked it out after wires were hooked up.
