It’s easy to use and very long lasting! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Short Life, Great Service: UPDATE 2016 *by S***C on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on June 3, 2012* I loved this scale when I first got it, and I planned to order one of the other colors for myself and give my mom my originial white/chrome one. Unfortunately, almost exactly 6 months after I bought it, it started turning on by itself and giving strange readings. I changed the batteries--brand new ones, right out of the package--and the next day found it powered on by itself again AND showing a low battery icon. I changed them again, and now it seems to work and not work at random. I still find it turned on several times a week--sometimes with and sometimes without the low battery alert showing (with the same set of batteries in it.) It's disappointing, because there are so many great things about this scale. The features are nice, a plate sits securely on the flat round base, and I love that you can zero it out as you add each new item to the plate so you can calculate your total calories for the plate. You can switch between the different units of measure with no problem. I love that it comes in so many nice colors. I just really wish it worked longer than 5-6 months and was a little sturdier. It is very lightweight plastic and has nothing to protect the battery compartment from moisture. To my knowledge, my scale has never gotten wet--but I have to make conscious efforts to keep any liquids away from it. I'm now searching for a reasonbly-priced scale with similar features and size for myself and my mom.UPDATE: I added a couple stars to my original review. The company emailed me stating that they had seen my review and wanted to provide a free replacement for the scale, which they believe to be defective. I don't know if I got a dud or if the scales wear out quick because they're so lightweight. But I do know that customer service like that is rare, where a company contacts YOU and offers to make things right. Usually you have to beg THEM and end up getting nowhere--or at the most they offer you a discount on the NEXT purchase you make from them. This level of customer service from a company is worth the benefit of the doubt and the extra stars, for standing behind their product and actually caring what their customers think and say about their experience. And as stated in my original review, I love the scale itself and the features--I loved it right up until it quit working. Whether or not I take them up their offer, their customer service deserves all 5 stars.UPDATE 2016: As of 4/28/2016, not only is this scale still working, it's still working on the original battery. I follow a strict eating plan and very specific nutrient macros, and this scale is the only way that I can accurately calculate and portion my own recipes and homemade foods. All the functions still work, grams, oz, pounds--as well as the Tare function to zero out the weight of your dish or container.
