I took a chance and ordered these hinges as a replacement. They were exactly the same size, shape and finish. Super easy to install, these came with a right and left hinge, with plenty of extra screws. Only tool needed is a Philips head screw driver. These hinges look great and are whisper quiet. Lid stays up and closes completely without slamming. Im so pleased! They saved me a ton of money and I was able to keep my bench!

**Q: how much lid weight will these support?**
A: I had to return. The hinge isn’t the right fit for my storage bench lid.

**Q: What is the lid weight to keep the  hinge down?**
A: The lid will stay down without weight.

**Q: Is the 6.7" the total length or the folded length?**
A: Short answer: yes it's the total length.
More precisely it depends on how you measure and the position of the rotating ends.
I measure right about 6.7 measuring parallel to the thick body, with the "holes part" on that side lined up parallel to that axis and the holes part on the thinner end rotated perpendicular to that axis.

Total length when folded closed is a little under 5 inches. About 4 7/8 (4.875)

One of the hinges on our upholstered shoe storage bench started to fail and the bench would no longer close properly. I took a chance and ordered these hinges as a replacement. They were exactly the same size, shape and finish. Super easy to install, these came with a right and left hinge, with plenty of extra screws. Only tool needed is a Philips head screw driver. Work great. No instructions. Fortunately I have a similar purchased trunk I could copy dimensions. This is critical. There's a pin at the bottom attached to a mounting bracket like a conduit strap. Position center of that pin 1.625" below trunk top edge and 1.75" forward of inside back wall. Then open hinge to resting position. Open lid and attach to hinge. Lid will be leaning closed a few degrees, that is correct. For $0.10, these instructions should be included.
