Review: Looked good to begin, but ended in disappointment! - I did a lot of research to find a set of hinges that looked good and would support the doors of my custom made bookshelf. Unfortunately, while these hinges seemed to work at the beginning, they started to fail fairly quickly. I had to resort to tightening the lock nuts each time I lifted the door and, eventually, the plastic bits in the locking mechanism failed. I finally decided to give up and have ordered a different brand of hinges to do the job. Unfortunately, it was just after desertcart's return period, so I can't return them for a refund. In the meantime, I've had to place some extra support behind the hinges when in use (see pic). Lesson learned! :(

Brilliant product, easy to install and well made, good value for money, I will be buying more for other cupboards.

I did a lot of research to find a set of hinges that looked good and would support the doors of my custom made bookshelf. Unfortunately, while these hinges seemed to work at the beginning, they started to fail fairly quickly. I had to resort to tightening the lock nuts each time I lifted the door and, eventually, the plastic bits in the locking mechanism failed. I finally decided to give up and have ordered a different brand of hinges to do the job. Unfortunately, it was just after Amazon's return period, so I can't return them for a refund. In the meantime, I've had to place some extra support behind the hinges when in use (see pic). Lesson learned! :(
