Also known as vulvar varicosities, these are varicose veins at the outer surface of the female genitalia (vulva). They occur most often during pregnancy. As a result, blood pools in the veins of your lower extremities as well as your vulvar region causing vulvar varicosities or Lymphedema. This brief has two overlapping bands built into the it that run through the pubic area providing compression and relief from vulvar swelling and overlap exactly where a floor of support for the pelvic area is created at the bottom. This helps in relieving prolapse such as Cystocele (when the bladder protrudes the vagina creating a bulge), Rectocele (when the rectum bulges into the back wall of the vagina), and Uterine prolapse.
