My system can't handle the usually recommended fiber, psyllium husk, due to existing GI problems. My GI doctor recommended this type (methylcellulose) and I concur. Much gentler on the system and no horrible side effects like I'd get with even small doses of the other. In addition, it does the job in terms of "regularity." Win-win for me.

Years ago, I went to the doctor with a bit of an embarrassing bowel problem. He suggested two of these per day. I started with two a day and it solved the problem.
