The moisture retention in this product is awesome! I did not have to worry about water dripping out of my worm bag, and the worms acclimated quite well. I know I can shred paper and cardboard, but frankly, I do not have time and needed something easier that would not serve as a deterrent to trying vermicomposting. This helps me keep it in the low maintenance range. Returning to buy more to have on hand since it sold out right after I purchased it. Will only use this product as my bedding. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great sustainable alternative to peat moss *by J***P on June 29, 2022* I used Pitt Moss in place of peat moss to make my own potting mix based on the “Mel’s Mix” recipe from the book “Square Foot Gardening.” (The recipe calls for equal parts peat, vermiculite, and blended compost.) It seems to have worked well and does a good job of keeping the mix moist. I really like that the product is sustainable (there is a limited supply of peat in the world and it apparently doesn’t renew as quickly as it is consumed.) I also like that is made from recycled paper and that it is light weight, so easy to store. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ True love *by J***. on October 25, 2023* I use Pittmoss Soil Amendment as a base for my home potting soil mix by adding rice hulls and compost. My plants love it. Everything from cannabis to vegetables, flowers, and house plants.
