Impressive
I bought this to help strengthen my core. First go was getting use to it. It's very well built but I do find the links are really difficult to remove. Only wish they made the clips different as anyone with weak hands will not be able to add or remove links. Maybe they need to rethink the design. I would however still recommend this item as its also fun to use.

Counter doesn’t workCan’t organise an exchange without returning, awaiting a refund and then reordering which seems silly

Extremely difficult to attach and detach the segments
Its a great idea but the segments are extremely hard to add or detach, I cannot do this without my husband being around, its a shame but not for me.

Fits plus size, counter is accurate and massage points don't leave me feeling bruised.
This is the third smart hula hoop I have tried and the best. The first one had no counter, I have gotten quite good and there is nothing worse than getting to over 500, getting disturbed and loosing count. The second had a counter but it was on the bit with the wheels that goes round, it was very inaccurate as I guess it didn’t know when it had reached a full revolution. This smart hoop is spot on. It has a counter on one of the segments, so it is accurate, and it feels good on, I find it better to use than my previous ones as the action is better, there is no snagging. The rope is much better quality and adjusting length is quick and easy. The floating massage points have soft gel protrusions, what a difference, I don’t feel sore after using this one.As well as the smart hoop, you get a good quality resistance band and a tape measure so you can keep check of how your waist and hips are doing. The longer the rope, the slower the weight will rotate, the longer the rope the easier it is. It took me a few goes to get success when I started so don’t worry if you don’t succeed at first, at least you won’t have to bend down and pick it up like you would a regular hoop……Oh and if you can’t use a regular hoop, don’t worry, it is entirely different.

Digital Counter!!!
Finally a hula hoop of this design that has a digital counter on it. Have been waiting for one to be made and finally it's here! Since I have already mentioned it, the counter works pretty well but it has a drawback which would be hard to solve anyway… It's next to impossible to see the count whilst you're using it. I had to stop to see where i'm at and this ruined my momentum. Hopefully something like this will be made with bluetooth integration so you can see the count live on your phone/watch!Anyway, back to this product, the colours are actually really nice. Instead of it being a basic single colour, it's a soft tone of white and purple and they are a lovely combination, and make the product feel less cheap than, say, bright neon pink. It's easy to use, easy to keep the hoop there due to the weight design swinging around, and after a while you do feel like you're having a decent workout without trying to focus on keeping the hula hoop by your hips all the time.It gets a little loud when used, so you would need to turn up the TV if you wish to use this whilst watching Corrie or something.Recommended. .

A much improved option over a more traditional hoop
This was a foray into the unknown for me. My partner had been asking for a weighted hoop for a little while so when I was presented with the opportunity to test this out I didn’t resist. The hoop arrives neatly packaged and upon opening everything seems well packaged and neatly placed. At first sight it does appear more than a little daunting when you are used to seeing a plain and simple old plastic ring. I was a little worried it would be too difficult to use but after a short watch of the accompanying video instructions and watching a few additional videos online I figured it was probably a little more simple to use than initial impression had given me.The hoop has a 0.45kg soft gravity ball that is attached to the outer ring and the inner segments have silicone massage rings running the complete circumference of the hoop. It’s a very odd feeling when first used to feel the massage points working away. The manufacturers claim it ‘will deeply massage your subcutaneous tissue, which can quickly consume body fat and eliminate fatigue’. Sounds pretty exotic but I did struggle to see how that would translate to a practical and physical result for me. Do they actually work? I can’t tell but the sheer motion and additional weight alone should help aid weight loss and improve your physique. Now it’s worth pointing out that this Hula hoop, unlike a conventional round hoop isn’t a fixed piece unit but rather it comes in 24 separate and flexible sections. It’s pretty easy to assemble and given you can add or remove single sections at a time it means that it should better fit a variety of different waist sizes. I doubt though that it would fit everybody so it’s best to check the maximum circumference you can achieve prior to purchasing. The minimum amount of sections you can have is 16 and the maximum is 24.The hoop is made of a high quality ABS plastic material and it does feel sturdy and robust. I can’t see it breaking or damaging easily unless you seriously abuse it so it should last a long time with care. The weighted ball is connected via a nylon rope, and it helps you generate a greater amount of centrifugal force to both keep the hoop in motion and support your weight loss or exercise routine.I would say this hoop is suitable for most people but not necessarily for everyone. I wouldn’t let my younger children use this but my two eldest would probably be ok. My one price of advice though is to be aware of your surroundings when using it. A ‘trial’ attempt in my living room nearly saw me take out the family flat screen - lol! I only have two minor criticisms for this hoop. The first is that the segments can be a little stiff to put together on first use. Time may see them ease up but you do need to jiggle them around a little to achieve the best angle for connecting them together. The other issue was the attached rotation counter. It seemed to be fairly accurate as far as I could tell but it is difficult to see your count when in use as your body is constantly moving and the small screen can be obscured by clothing.Overall though I am very happy, as is my partner, who uses this far more than I do. It provides an interesting and fun way to liven up your daily exercise routine and I genuinely see this having some positive health benefits. It’s certainly better than a boring and tired old plain hoop any day. A good product at a good price.
