Better peace of mind 4. Don't need to stockpile, less waste, better for the environment Cons: 1. Don't last as long as non-rechargeable batteries, need to change out more frequently 2. Slightly thinner than non-rechargeable batteries My Quarq TyreWiz require these unusual batteries and the non-rechargeable versions are quite expensive, even if you order online and wait for shipping. On the bike, they go dead at random and inconvenient times. And there are so many counterfeits everywhere that you have no idea whether they're any good or how long they'll last. So rather than stockpiling the non-rechargeables for uncertain lengths of time in which they eventually die on their own, It's much less wasteful to use these rechargeables. Of course, they discharge more quickly, but I'm happy to just recharge them. Another downside I noticed is that they're very slightly thinner than the original batteries, so I had to add a piece of electrical tape to raise the connector height and maintain electrical contact. They could have made them slightly thicker to hold a bit more charge.
