Great for our long-haired cat AND great for removing fur from furniture. Gently using wire end makes kitty very happy and her fur very pretty. Would be great for small dogs. Larger version of this brush for dogs is also excellent. Our yellow Lab loves being brushed and this is the same brush our groomer uses. Removes LOTS of dog fur and the fur comes out easily and cleanly. Highly recommend. ### ⭐⭐ Does Not Remove Excess Fur *by B***T on Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2014* I got this brush because our cat is plagued by hairballs, and I wanted to remove loose hair from her coat before she had a chance to lick it up. She was leery of it at first, but now that the brush smells more like her, she even lets us brush her belly. We don't use the side with stiff bristles at all. It seems meant for a different kind of coat--long or wiry. (Ours is a short-haired cat.)But this brush does not remove excess fur. It quickly holds all it can (which isn't much) and then starts depositing loose fur back onto the cat's coat.
