That's where the positive review ends! I read the directions that says "brush lightly with charcoal. Let teeth absorb charcoal for 2 minutes before rinsing. Use twice daily." I put a small amount of this toothpaste on my brush and proceeded. Here's where it gets interesting! Black dots were EVERYWHERE! On my clothes, the counter, sink, mirror, wall....Now, I'm not a messy or careless person, but I was not prepared for the absolute mess this made. Not to mention that once I caught my reflection in the mirror, I nearly had a stroke!! Black mouth, tongue, chin, lips...After I rinsed, my tongue and the skin surrounding my mouth was stained. I needed to use cold cream to remove it. I also vigorously used a toothbrush and a tongue scrapper with "regular" toothpaste to get it off my tongue! The whitening effect was a bonus but my teeth looked a little more yellow than white. It polished my teeth like nothing ever has. I love the fact that the ingredients are all pure with no bad stuff added. It has no taste which is fine with me. It felt a little gritty. The only negative is that it is messy, because it's black as charcoal is.
