Is that normal?** A: Yes β€” that's the nature of hog bristle, not a defect. Stiff, springy bristles are what push thick paint and create texture and impasto. If you want soft, smooth blending or fine glazing, use a synthetic or sable brush for those layers instead. **Q: A few bristles came out on my first use. Is that normal?** A: Natural bristle brushes may shed a few hairs in first uses; this is normal as loose hairs work out of the ferrule. Before painting, gently brush the dry head on a paper towel to remove most. **Q: What's the best way to stop bristles from coming loose over time?** A: Most long-term shedding is from paint drying in the ferrule. After each use, rinse brush fully down to ferrule. Never let paint dry at bristle base or stand brush bristles-down in water/solventβ€”it softens glue and swells the handle. **Q: Are the ferrules rust-proof? Is a storage case included?** A: The ferrules are nickel-plated and rust-resistant β€” but rust-resistance isn't rust-proof, so don't leave brushes standing in water or solvent. A bamboo storage pouch is included for keeping the set together and protected. **Q: Can I use these for watercolor?** A: No β€” hog bristle is too stiff and holds too much water for watercolor. Watercolor needs soft brushes with a fine point (squirrel, sable or a soft synthetic). This set is built for oil, heavy-body acrylic, and textured work. ## Frequently Bought Together - Falling in Art Natural Bristle Professional Paintbrush Set, 15PCS Long Handled Paint Brushes for Acrylic Painting, Oil Paint Brushes of Fan, Round, Flat, Angled, and, Filbert with Bamboo Storage Pouch - Winsor & Newton Winton Oil Color, 200ml (6.75-oz) Tube, Titanium White - Winsor & Newton Winton Oil Color Paint, Basic Set, 10 x 21ml Tubes --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/378575969-falling-in-art-15-pcs-professional-oil-paint-brush-set](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/378575969-falling-in-art-15-pcs-professional-oil-paint-brush-set) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-13*
