For outdoor cushions that might be exposed to rain; we recommend dry fast foam.

**Q: Is this an open cell foam that can absorb water?**
A: Yes, it's open cell.

**Q: Can this be used as insulation for back hallway window panels?**
A: Don’t think it will work. It would soak up any moisture on the windows. I used to reupholster my dinning table chairs.

**Q: Is there a chemical smell?  Is this ok to use for a baby’s playpen ?**
A: There was no chemical smell.  Since it will be for baby's playpen, I would spray with lysol, cover with batting, then fabric of your choice. I used for upholstering a headboard and bed surround.  No smell from either.
