But it did not work and I lost about 75 gallons out of my saltwater tank when the power went out. Only took about 3 min. For half of my tank to empty.. I would find a nicer piece if i were looking. **Q: How does this fit both 1" & 3/4" pipe? From the pictures I don't see any way to support multiple diameters.** A: The smooth is 3/4 the ridged is 1 inch. **Q: Will this work to keep water from draining back into my washing machine?** A: I will say it does.
