Review: I was excited to try this, what seemed to be the only competitors to the philips hue bulbs that also connect to HomeKit ecosystems. I got this along with the bridge and now even over Bluetooth, not even the HomeKit side, I can’t even change the bulbs to colors, only daylight shades. So not even full advertised functionality after multiple factory resets and checks for up to date firmware.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Someone responded these work with alexa only with extra wifi product; amazon.com says that these work with my echo show (with zigbee).  clarification?**
A: The C by GE smart home lights work with any Alexa device as long as there is a wifi bridge or hub for the lights to connect to. These receive commands via BlueTooth only. Your Amazon Echo Show sends out commands via wifi. So in order for the Alexa device to communicate with the bulbs, C by GE offers their Smart On/Off Plug or wired-in wall switches as hubs for the lights. Each C by GE hub can have up to 32 bulbs connected to it. You will want to set the C by GE products up in the C by GE app and then link the skill in the Alexa app.

**Q: Can i connect this straight to apple home kit or will i need some sort of hub?**

**Q: I have a google nest mini, Can I turn these off from just the google home app without a smart plug?**
A: Hi there thanks for your question. The mini acts as a hub so it should be able to control the lights with just voice. If you have any further questions reach out to our support team.

**Q: What's the kelvin temperature of the whites available with the colored bulb? The tunable white is 2200k to 6500k. Is this bulb the same kelvin range?**
A: It has access to millions of vibrant colors as well as a tunable white range from 2000K - 7000K.

Okay I'm one person that is extremely smart home savvy I am. Everything is smart that I can possibly buy. I have Google displays in every room. I have a Google ecosystem in my home. Philips hue has been my go-to for years I still use Philips hue in certain areas. I thought I would give GE bulbs a try. When you can buy two color bulbs for the cost of one Philips hue why not give it a try right. I'm very pleased. Easy to set up especially with Google. I can set them up in the Google home app but I set them up in the GE smart app. The colors are excellent. The difference between Philips hue and the GE's light bulbs the color spectrum is the same but the brightness in some colors is not as bright as the Philips. I also have LIFX and a couple spots in my house the LIFX are the brightest of all colors. But they cost a fortune as well. So the areas where I have just soft white Philips hue bulbs I'm replacing them with the GE smart bulbs colored. They work flawless I have no issues they don't go offline they're stable as the Philips hue. I would definitely recommend it especially if you're getting into a smart home. But definitely try other products. Figure out which ecosystem you're going to go with and buy your products based on whether it's Amazon Alexa or Google home or Apple. A lot of frustrations people buy products that don't work with a certain ecosystem. Do your research but I do recommend these bulbs to anyone
