HOW TO CUT We recommend using a knife, and cutting through the tape SPECIFICALLY from the paper side of the roll, which will be facing up. (Using scissors or applying the knife to the sticky side may cause difficulty in cutting). Specifically for carpets, rugs, and runners, we recommend cutting numerous smaller sized pieces, vs longer continuous pieces, to avoid bunching and wrinkling and allow for easier application. HOW TO APPLY Unroll and apply the adhesive side of the tape to the underneath of the rug, pad or tile you are planning to lay and secure, leaving on the paper backing. (Alternatively you can stick the adhesive part of the tape to the surface of the floor area where carpet or tile will be laid). Note- Depending on the job, surface and what you are securing, be sure to use an adequate amount of tape for the job. HOW TO PEEL AND SECURE When you have finished applying all the pieces, we recommend that you remove the paper backing from the pieces one at a time rather than removing the backing from all the tape at once. Once you're satisfied with the final position, press firmly along the edges and the middle. REMOVAL Removal of the tape should be easy and clean and can be done by hand. If one is having difficulty getting the tape up, we recommend a bit of dish soap and warm water. Using a carpet friendly adhesive removal such as goo gone will do also do the trick. I tried everything to try to stop my carpet runners from moving all over the place on my wall to wall carpet. It was so annoying to have to keep putting them in place. I put 3 strips, one across both edges and one across the middle. i even repositioned it 3 times and it stays in place. It's very heavy duty tape and had no problems cutting it and it was easy to use. I didn't find any residue when I pulled it off to reposition it so it checked all the boxes for me.

Bought this a couple of years ago and I'm at the end of the roll, been using it for various projects around the house. This tape is just fantastic. First, it's inexpensive compared to other brands, it isn't thick but it is strong and sticky, just what you need to get things to stay in place. I used this for a room full of carpet tiles that had no backing (all cloth) and it did the job perfectly and there are still no problems with the tiles. They are in place and haven't moved at all, and they get vacuumed every day. And you don't need a lot, I put five pieces on each tile, one in the middle and on the four corners and it does the job. I also did my basement with tiles and with those, I bought thicker ones with rubber backing but they would move on the painted floor. I wasn't so sure about this product when it arrived but let me just say, it works perfectly! I have used in the laundry room to hold down the rug there, and in the kitchen over hardwood to hold over a long runner. It has done fantastic on both of those runners, and also to help hold down an extra large living room rug and to keep the corners from curling. It really is a great product, it's very sticky and easy to use, I would lay one of the tape sides against the rug before you take off the top piece it helps it stays smoother and you're not stuck with two sticky sides immediately. It is definitely an excellent value, and it also comes up easily and leaves no residue on either hardwood or my other floor surfacings.
