Review: Updated review: (see 2nd😀) Bar is bent/doesn’t cut straight/handle won’t go on right. - Updated Review: 5/10/22 —- see 2nd one :) 😀 1st: I have been needing to buy one of these for a while now and finally broke down and got one. I went back and forth between this one and a few others, but decided on this one. Finally got it and put together, however the cutting bar is bent, so when you pull down to make your cut, your cut is not straight at all. It is crooked. There is no possible way to make it straight while trying to cut. I must have gotten the fluke one as they have great reviews, but this one is not one of them. It does cut paper great, just not straight, so I have to go back to my small one to clean it up which defeats the whole purpose of getting this one for the big orders and projects. Hopefully I can get the bar straight, can get them to replace it or send a new one of they see the review. The handle also does not go all the way on either. It gets stuck and stops half way on so it will not go further or down where it should as shown. (The black silicone part) I just need it to work properly and do what it needs too. Will definitely update if they send a new one and reach out. Will have to send in a request. 2nd review: 😀 The company reached out directly to me within a day or two of me posting this review. I never asked for a replacement or for a refund to be completed through desertcart. Just completed my review and went on about my day. Review: Good for my purposes. - I'm always hesitant to post a review right after receiving a product but I will give my first impressions here. The packaging could have been a lot better. The box was torn in several places and there wasn't nearly enough spacing material inside to keep the cutter from shifting around. Thankfully no damage had occurred though. The cutter is light weight but guides are fine and it cut photo paper clean. I do not plan to use as a production cutter and only going to cut one to maybe 3 sheets at a time so I'm not concerned about it's performance on the 15 sheet capacity. For my uses it seems to be plenty good enough and the $69 price tag for a 24 inch cutter can't be beat. Happy with purchase at this date. Will update review in the future if that changes.

**Q: can you buy replacement blades?**
A: There is no sharp blade per se. It has a thick steel bar about an inch by an eighth inch thick and it cuts by shear force rather than slicing. As long as you protect the edge from damage it should serve for quite some time. The long term wear is unknown. Otherwise it seems well constructed.

**Q: Will it cut mat board and or suede board**
A: Its cut through both chip board and mat board. But with mat boards it requires a bit more force

**Q: Will this trimmer cut water color paper and 325 gsm paper?**
A: Hello, it's okay to cut watercolor paper and 325 grams of paper. But 325 grams of paper can only cut 2 sheets at a time

**Q: Will this cut craft vinyl, like for Cricut?**
A: I use mine to cut 0.020 inch styrene one sheet at a time with no problem. What it does to the longevity of the cutter remains to be seen.

This cutter does not have a blade per se but a steel strap and a very strong spring that holds the work in place. and another spring that holds the shear plate to the cutting platform steel edge.

Updated Review: 5/10/22 —- see 2nd one :) 😀 1st: I have been needing to buy one of these for a while now and finally broke down and got one. I went back and forth between this one and a few others, but decided on this one. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does what it is supposed to do

This paper cutter cuts clean edges. I have been using it to cut 110 lb cardstock. I was excited about the magnet, but for my uses so far have not used it. The edge where it cuts is black. This makes it very hard to see exactly where the cut will be made. This is where I would like to see improvement. It is a nice size to cut regular 8.5 x 11 paper or smaller.
