I have a hot, hot stove which is set out from the drywall the appropriate distance according to mfg spec. However, the wall would still get hot to the touch, and I could only imagine how the wall studs would slowly bake over the years. So I put this up, and it is so reflective, when my little blast-furnace of a stove is at full heat, the surface of this tin is literally cold to the touch. Plus, it looks great. Just a heads-up: it is real tin. Uncoated. It will rust if exposed to moisture.
